The Portugal laurel 'Angustifolia' (Prunus lusitanica) is an upright, compact, picturesque shrub that produces white flowers arranged in clusters. They appear from June to July. These produce black, oval fruits from September. The Portugal laurel 'Angustifolia' also has shiny, lanceolate, dark green leaves. Its bark is red-brown in colour. In a sunny to semi-shady location with well-drained, nutrient-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of around 3 metres and grows to a width of around 2 metres.
