The Sawara cypress 'Boulevard' (Chamaecyparis pisifera) is a shrub that grows cone-shaped and usually reaches a height of around 5 metres and a width of around 2 metres. Its needle-shaped leaves are silver-blue in colour. They turn a beautiful blue-grey in winter. This shrub is well tolerant of frost and prefers loose, nutrient-rich soil in a sunny to semi-shady position.

Sawara cypress 'Boulevard' is a conical growing shrub. It usually reaches a height of 4 - 5 m and is approx. 1.2 - 2 m wide. Slow growing.

Leaves

Very decorative. The Sawara cypress 'Boulevard' is evergreen. Its needles are silver-blue, soft. With its blue-grey foliage, it sets beautiful accents in winter.

Location

Preferred location in a sunny to semi-shady position.

Care

This plant is susceptible to snow pressure. In snowy areas, it is therefore advisable to wrap the branches with string. Otherwise, they may split apart and not fully recover. When the snow season is over, the strings must of course be removed again.

This plant is tolerant of pruning.

Planting time

Container plants can be planted all year round, except when the ground is frozen and in summer heat (over 30°C).
