The Weigela 'Newport Red' (Weigela) is a bushy, overhanging shrub that produces carmine-red, funnel-shaped flowers. They appear from June to July. The Weigela 'Newport Red' also has lanceolate, light green leaves. In a sunny to semi-shady location with well-drained, loose, nutrient-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 3 metres and grows to a width of approx. 3 metres.
