The Holly 'Golden King' (Ilex altaclerensis) is an upright, broad, large shrub with decorative, bright red fruits. This year it produces white flowers. The Holly 'Golden King' also has glossy, egg-shaped, dark green leaves with a yellow edge. In a sunny to semi-shady, wind-protected location with well-drained, humus-rich, nutrient-rich, acidic soil, it usually reaches a height of around 4 metres and grows to around 4 metres wide.

Growth

Holly 'Golden King' is an upright and broad-growing large shrub. It usually reaches a height of 3 - 4 m and is approx. 3 - 4 m wide.

The evergreen leaves of the Holly 'Golden King' are dark green, ovate, glossy, alternate, toothed and have a yellow margin.

Fruit

The bright red berries of Ilex altaclerensis 'Golden King' are particularly decorative. These appear from October.
