The Boston ivy 'Veitchii' (Parthenocissus tricuspidata) is a climbing deciduous plant that produces yellow-green flowers arranged in umbels. They appear from June to July. The Boston ivy 'Veitchii' also has shiny, heart-shaped, dark green leaves. In a sunny to semi-shady location with well-drained, nutrient-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of around 15 metres and grows to a width of around 5 metres.

Boston ivy 'Veitchii' is a climbing plant that can reach a height of 12 - 15 metres and a width of 3 - 5 metres. It usually grows 0.5 - 1.5 m per year.

Leaves

The deciduous leaves of Boston ivy 'Veitchii' are dark green, heart-shaped, glossy, alternate, lobed. Bronze-coloured shoots. Boston ivy 'Veitchii' turns bright orange-red in autumn.

Flower

The yellow-green flowers of Boston ivy 'Veitchii' appear in umbels from June to July.

Root

Parthenocissus tricuspidata 'Veitchii' is a deep-rooting plant.

Location

Preferred location in a sunny to semi-shady position.

- In general, stable wooden structures can be recommended as climbing aids on house walls and facades. However, there are plants that prefer slightly twisted, parallel wire ropes as climbing aids.
