The Arrow bamboo (Pseudosasa japonica) with its dark green leaf colouring and green-brown, twisted stems is a decorative design element in the garden, which with its upright and dense growth can be used as a free-growing hedge or for a single stand. It prefers sunny to shady, sheltered locations with well-drained, humus-rich and acidic soil. Under favourable conditions, this hardy bamboo reaches a height of approx. 5 m and grows up to 2 m wide.
