The Pleioblastus (Pleioblastus argenteostriatus f. pumilus) with its medium green leaf colouring and red, hollow stems is a decorative design element in the garden, which stands out with its bushy growth. Semi-shady to shady locations with well-drained and humus-rich soil are preferred. Under favourable conditions, this hardy bamboo reaches a height of approx. 80 cm and grows up to 1 m wide.

Growth

Pleioblastus is a bushy growing small shrub that can reach a height of 40 - 80 cm and a width of 0.5 - 1 m. It usually grows 10 - 20 cm per year.
