The Golden bamboo (Phyllostachys aurea) with its light green leaf colouring and greenish-yellow, knotted stems is a decorative design element in the garden, which with its bushy, dense and clump-forming growth can be used as a free-growing hedge or for a single stand. It prefers sunny to semi-shady, wind-protected locations with well-drained, humus-rich and nutrient-rich soil. Under favourable conditions, this bamboo reaches a height of approx. 4 m and grows up to 3 m wide.

Golden bamboo is a bushy, dense and clump-forming large shrub that can reach a height of 2.5 - 4 metres and a width of 2 - 3 metres. It usually grows 1 - 1.5 m per year.
