With its dark green leaf colouring and yellow-green, rough stems, the Yellow groove bamboo (Phyllostachys aureosulcata) is a decorative design element in the garden, which can be used as a free-growing hedge with its upright and loose growth. Sunny to semi-shady locations with well-drained and nutrient-rich soil are preferred. In favourable conditions, this hardy bamboo reaches a height of approx. 7 m and grows up to 6 m wide.
