The Yellow buckeye 'Vestita' (Aesculus flava) is a conical, broad, loose tree that produces pale yellow flowers arranged in panicles. They appear at the end of May. The Yellow buckeye 'Vestita' also bears palmate, dark green leaves. In a sunny to semi-shady location with well-drained, nutrient-rich, loamy soil, it usually reaches a height of around 20 metres and grows to a width of around 15 metres.

Yellow buckeye 'Vestita' is a conical, broad and loose-growing tree with an opaque crown. It usually reaches a height of 12 - 20 m and is approx. 90 - 15 m wide. Slow growing. Usually grows 30 - 35 cm per year.

Shoots

The shoots of Aesculus flava 'Vestita' are light brown in colour.

Leaves

The deciduous leaves of Yellow buckeye 'Vestita' are dark green, palmate, opposite. They are about 7 - 10 cm tall. Yellow buckeye 'Vestita' turns a bright dark yellow in autumn.

Bark peeling off in irregular plates.

Flower

The light yellow flowers of Yellow buckeye 'Vestita' appear in panicles at the end of May.

Location

Preferred location in a sunny to semi-shady position.
