The Dog-hobble 'Scarletta'® (Leucothoe walteri) is a bushy, dense dwarf shrub that produces white, bell-shaped flowers arranged in clusters with a pleasant fragrance. They appear from May to June. The Dog-hobble 'Scarletta'® also has glossy, lanceolate, green leaves. The scarlet-coloured shoots are also an interesting sight. In a semi-shady to shady, wind-protected location with well-drained, humus-rich, acidic soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 45 cm and is approx. 40 cm wide.

Dog-hobble 'Scarletta'® is a bushy and densely growing dwarf shrub. It usually reaches a height of 35 - 45 cm and is approx. 20 - 40 cm wide. Slow-growing.

The evergreen leaves of the Dog-hobble 'Scarletta'® are green, lanceolate, glossy. They are about 5 - 15 cm in size. Scarlet-red shoots. With its red foliage, it sets beautiful accents in winter.

Flower

The white, bell-shaped flowers of Dog-hobble 'Scarletta'® appear in clusters from May to June. They grow to around 4 - 6 cm and are pleasantly fragrant.

Root

Leucothoe walteri 'Scarletta'® is a shallow-rooting plant and, depending on the soil, forms densely branched, runner-forming roots.

Location

Preferred location in semi-shady to shady, wind-protected position.
