The Cotoneaster (Cotoneaster dielsianus) is an upright, broad, picturesque shrub with decorative, red, round fruits. In June, it produces light pink-coloured flowers arranged in umbrella clusters. The Cotoneaster also has shiny, egg-shaped, dark green leaves. In a sunny to semi-shady location with well-drained, humus-rich, nutrient-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 3.5 m and grows to a width of approx. 3.5 m.

Cotoneaster is an upright, wide-growing, picturesque shrub. It usually reaches a height of 2.5 - 3.5 m and is approx. 2 - 3.5 m wide.

The deciduous leaves of the Cotoneaster are dark green, ovate, glossy and alternate. They are about 1 - 2 cm in size. Cotoneaster is bright red-brown to yellow in autumn. Long lasting.

Flower

The light pink flowers of Cotoneaster appear in umbrella clusters in June.

Fruit

The red, round fruits of Cotoneaster dielsianus are particularly decorative. These appear from September.

Root

Cotoneaster dielsianus is a shallow-rooting plant and, depending on the soil, forms finely branched roots.

Location

Preferred location in a sunny to semi-shady position.

The Cotoneaster has good frost hardiness.
