The Japanese barberry 'Green Carpet' (Berberis thunbergii) is a flat, compact dwarf shrub with decorative, pink-red fruits that stay on for a very long time. It produces yellow-red flowers in May. The Japanese barberry 'Green Carpet' also has glossy, roundish, medium-green leaves. In a sunny to semi-shady location with well-drained, humus-rich, acidic soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 1 m and grows to a width of approx. 1.5 m.
