The St John's wort 'Hidcote' (Hypericum patulum) is a roundish small shrub that produces golden yellow, bowl-shaped flowers. They appear from July to October. The St John's wort 'Hidcote' also has egg-shaped, dark green leaves. In a sunny to semi-shady location with well-drained, nutrient-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of around 1.5 metres and grows to around 1 metre wide.
