The Sheep laurel 'Rubra' (Kalmia angustifolia) is an upright, bushy, broad small shrub that produces purple-red, cup-shaped flowers. They appear from June to July. These produce brown capsules. The Sheep laurel 'Rubra' also has lanceolate, dark green leaves. In a sunny to semi-shady location with humus-rich, lime-free, acidic soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 1 m and is approx. 1.2 m wide.
