The Kousa 'Venus'® (Cornus kousa) is an upright, spreading large shrub that produces white flowers. They appear from May to June. The Kousa 'Venus'® also has egg-shaped, medium-green leaves. In a sunny to semi-shady location with well-drained, humus-rich, lime-free, sandy soil, it usually reaches a height of around 6 metres and grows to a width of around 3 metres.

Kousa 'Venus'® is an upright and spreading large shrub. It usually reaches a height of 3 - 6 m and is approx. 2 - 3 m wide. Slow-growing.

The deciduous leaves of the Kousa 'Venus'®s are medium green, ovate, opposite, wavy. They are about 8 - 9 cm in size. Kousa 'Venus'® turns a bright scarlet red in autumn.

Flower

The white flowers appear from May to June. These grow to about 20 - 25 cm tall.

Root

Cornus kousa 'Venus'® is a shallow-rooting plant and, depending on the soil, forms finely branched roots.

Location

Preferred location in a sunny to semi-shady position.

The Kousa 'Venus'® has good frost hardiness.
