The Giant dogwood 'Variegata' (Cornus controversa) is a large conical shrub with decorative, black-blue fruits. It produces creamy white flowers arranged in umbrella clusters from May to July. The Giant dogwood 'Variegata' also has egg-shaped, dark green leaves with a white edge. The green-yellow shoots are also an interesting sight. In a sunny to semi-shady location with well-drained, nutrient-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of around 6 metres and grows to around 4 metres wide.

Giant dogwood 'Variegata' is a large shrub that grows in a conical shape. It usually reaches a height of 4 - 6 m and is approx. 3 - 4 m wide. It usually grows 20 - 30 cm per year.

The shoots of Cornus controversa 'Variegata' are reddish-brown.
