Hedera colchica 'Arborescens'

East Asia to Caucasus.

Persian ivy 'Arborescens' is an upright and densely growing small shrub. It usually reaches a height of 1.5 - 1.8 m and is approx. 1.5 - 1.8 m wide. Slow growing. Usually grows 10 - 20 cm per year.

High leaf ornamental value. The evergreen leaves of the Persian ivy 'Arborescens' are dark green, lanceolate, alternate. With its copper-brown foliage, it sets beautiful accents in winter.

The green-white, ball-shaped flowers of Persian ivy 'Arborescens' appear in umbels from July to September.

The black, round fruits of Hedera colchica 'Arborescens' are particularly decorative. These appear from January.

Hedera colchica 'Arborescens' is a shallow-rooting plant and, depending on the soil, forms densely branched roots.

Preferred location in semi-shady to shady position.

The Persian ivy 'Arborescens' has good frost hardiness.

Normal soil.

The plant has a medium water requirement.

Container plants can be planted all year round, except when the soil is frozen and in summer heat (over 30°C).
