The Purple broom (Cytisus purpureus) is a flat, loose dwarf shrub with decorative, silvery legumes. It produces purple-red flowers from May to June. The Purple broom also has dark green leaves with three teeth. In a sunny location with well-drained, calcareous soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 60 cm and is approx. 1.2 m wide.
