The Border Forsythia 'Spectabilis' (Forsythia x intermedia) is an overhanging, picturesque shrub that produces dark yellow flowers arranged in panicles. They appear from April to May. The Border Forsythia 'Spectabilis' also has lanceolate, medium green leaves. In a sunny to semi-shady location with well-drained, nutrient-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 3 metres and grows to a width of approx. 3 metres.

Growth

Border Forsythia 'Spectabilis' is an overhanging, picturesque shrub. It usually reaches a height of 2 - 3 m and is approx. 2 - 3 m wide. It usually grows 25 - 35 cm per year.

The deciduous leaves of the Border Forsythia 'Spectabilis' are medium green, lanceolate, opposite, serrated. They are about 8 - 12 cm in size. Border Forsythia 'Spectabilis' is bright yellow in autumn.

Flower

The dark yellow flowers of Border Forsythia 'Spectabilis' appear in panicles from April to May.

Root

Forsythia x intermedia 'Spectabilis' is a heart-root plant and, depending on the soil, forms sparsely branched roots.

Preferred location in a sunny to semi-shady position.
