The Crowberry (Empetrum nigrum) is a dense, cushion-shaped dwarf shrub that produces dark pink flowers. They appear in May. These produce black fruits from August. The Crowberry also has shiny, needle-shaped, medium-green leaves. In a sunny to semi-shady location with well-drained, humus-rich, acidic soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 50 cm and grows to a width of approx. 70 cm.

The dark pink flowers appear in May.

The black berries have a sweet and sour flavour. Ripening time from August.
