The Spearmint (Mentha spicata) is an herbaceous plant with a refreshing, aromatic flavour. Its medium green leaves are egg-shaped and toothed. For optimum growth, Spearmint requires a sunny location and well-drained, nutrient-rich soil.

Upright, stoloniferous.

Water

Care

Too much fertiliser harms the aroma of herbs! Herbs are well cared for in planters if they are given herb fertiliser once in spring. When planted out in the garden, a dose of compost at the start of the season is sufficient.
