The Caucasian lime (Tilia x euchlora) is an ovoid tree that produces pale yellow flowers arranged in umbels. They appear in July. From September onwards, these produce grey-green, round fruits that keep for a very long time. The Caucasian lime also bears shiny, heart-shaped, dark green leaves. Its bark is grey and longitudinally furrowed. In a sunny location with well-drained, nutrient-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of around 20 metres and grows to a width of around 12 metres.
