The American basswood 'Nova' (Tilia americana) is an upright, roundish large tree that produces pale yellow flowers arranged in umbels with a pleasant fragrance. They appear in July. They produce grey-green, round fruits from September. They exude a pleasant fragrance. The American basswood 'Nova' also has egg-shaped, dark green leaves. Its bark is dark brown. In a sunny to semi-shady location with well-drained, nutrient-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of around 30 metres and grows to a width of around 20 metres.
