Chinese arbor-vitae 'Pyramidalis Aurea' is a pyramidal large shrub. It usually reaches a height of 3 - 4 m and is approx. 1 - 2 m wide.

The Chinese arbor-vitae 'Pyramidalis Aurea' is evergreen. Its needles are golden yellow, scale-like.

The plant has a medium water requirement.

- This plant is susceptible to snow pressure. In snowy areas, it is therefore advisable to wrap the branches with twine. Otherwise, they may split apart and not fully recover. When the snow season is over, the twine must of course be removed.
- In spring, a slow-release fertiliser can be used. This releases the nutrients slowly and continuously so that the plant is evenly supplied over a longer period of time.
- If the plant is watered less frequently but thoroughly and penetratingly, the plant roots are encouraged to penetrate into deeper soil layers. This enables the plant to survive dry periods better.

Container plants can be planted all year round, except when the soil is frozen and in summer heat (over 30°C).
