The Swamp blueberry 'Hardyblue' (Vaccinium corymbosum) produces dark blue, medium-sized berries. They are firm and have a sweet and sour flavour. Humus-rich, sandy, slightly acidic soil and a sunny to semi-shady location create ideal conditions for a high-yielding harvest from the beginning of July. Its white flowers are a beautiful sight. With its bushy and broad growth, the Swamp blueberry 'Hardyblue' grows to a height of around 2 metres, making it ideal for growing in pots on balconies or terraces.

Swamp blueberry 'Hardyblue' is a bushy and broad-growing small shrub that can reach a height of 1.5 - 2 metres.

Flower

The white, cup-shaped flowers appear from May to June.

Fruit

The dark blue, medium-sized berries have a sweet and sour flavour. The blue-grey flesh of these round berries is firm. Ripening time from the beginning of July.

Root

Vaccinium corymbosum 'Hardyblue' is a shallow-rooting plant and, depending on the soil, forms finely branched roots.

Location

Preferred location in a sunny to semi-shady position.
