The Red tamarisk (Tamarix ramosissima) is a spreading, loose shrub that produces light pink-coloured flowers arranged in panicles. They appear from July to September. These produce light brown fruits. The Red tamarisk also bears scaly, grey-green leaves. In a sunny location with well-drained soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 3 metres and grows to a width of approx. 3 metres.

Growth

Red tamarisk is a sprawling and loose-growing shrub. It usually reaches a height of 2 - 3 m and is approx. 2 - 3 m wide.

Shoots

The shoots of Tamarix ramosissima are brown-yellow in colour.

The deciduous leaves of Red tamarisk are grey-green, scale-like. Red tamarisk is bright yellow in autumn.

The light pink flowers of Red tamarisk appear in panicles from July to September.
