Ulmus glabra 'Pendula'

Feathered elm 'Pendula' is an umbrella-shaped and overhanging large shrub with a closed crown. It usually reaches a height of 3 - 5 m and is approx. 3 - 8 m wide.

The shoots of Ulmus glabra 'Pendula' are grey-green.

The deciduous leaves of the Feathered elm 'Pendula' are dark green, ovate, rough, alternate, serrated. They are about 10 - 15 cm in size. Feathered elm 'Pendula' turns bright yellow in autumn.

Grey, striped, torn bark makes this plant an eye-catcher in any garden.

The purple-violet flowers of Feathered elm 'Pendula' appear in umbels from March to April.

Ulmus glabra 'Pendula' is a deep-rooting plant and, depending on the soil, forms extensive branching roots.

Preferred location in a sunny to semi-shady position.

The Feathered elm 'Pendula' has good frost hardiness.

Normal soil.

The plant has a medium water requirement.

- A slow-release fertiliser can be used in spring. This releases the nutrients slowly and continuously so that the plant is evenly supplied over a longer period of time.
- Pruning wounds, saw cuts and broken branches should be treated with a wound sealant as soon as possible to prevent pathogens from entering the plant.

Container plants can be planted all year round, except when the soil is frozen and in summer heat (over 30°C).
