The Feathered elm 'Pendula' (Ulmus glabra) is an umbrella-shaped, overhanging large shrub that produces purple-violet flowers arranged in umbels. They appear from March to April. These produce green-brown, flat fruits from May. The Feathered elm 'Pendula' also has rough, egg-shaped, dark green leaves. Its bark is grey and torn in strips. In a sunny to semi-shady location with calcareous, loose, nutrient-rich, moist to wet soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 5 metres and grows to a width of approx. 8 metres.

Feathered elm 'Pendula' is an umbrella-shaped and overhanging large shrub with a closed crown. It usually reaches a height of 3 - 5 m and is approx. 3 - 8 m wide.

The shoots of Ulmus glabra 'Pendula' are grey-green.

The deciduous leaves of the Feathered elm 'Pendula' are dark green, ovate, rough, alternate, serrated. They are about 10 - 15 cm in size. Feathered elm 'Pendula' turns bright yellow in autumn.

Container plants can be planted all year round, except when the soil is frozen and in summer heat (over 30°C).
