The Japanese zelkova 'Green Vase' (Zelkova serrata) is a slender, funnel-shaped tree that produces green-brown flowers. They appear from April to May. The Japanese zelkova 'Green Vase' also has pinnate, dark green leaves. Its bark is grey and scaly. In a sunny to semi-shady location with nutrient-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of around 20 metres and grows to a width of around 12 metres.

Distribution China to Japan.

Growth

Zelkove 'Green Vase' is a slender, funnel-shaped tree. It usually reaches a height of 15 - 20 m and is approx. 9 - 12 m wide. Slow growing.

Shoots

The shoots of Zelkova serrata 'Green Vase' are smooth, brown.

Leaves

The deciduous leaves of Zelkova serrata 'Green Vase' are dark green, pinnate and serrated. They are about 6 - 12 cm in size. Zelkove 'Green Vase' is bright orange-yellow in the fall.

Bark

Gray, scaly bark makes this plant an eye-catcher in any garden.

Flower

The green-brown flowers appear from April to May.
