The Common lilac 'Mrs. Edward Harding' (Syringa vulgaris) is an upright, dense, branched large shrub that produces dark red flowers arranged in panicles with a light fragrance. They appear from May to June. The Common lilac 'Mrs. Edward Harding' also has heart-shaped, dark green leaves. In a sunny to semi-shady location with humus-rich, nutrient-rich, sandy, loamy soil, it usually reaches a height of around 6 metres and grows to a width of around 5 metres.

Common lilac 'Mrs. Edward Harding' is an upright, dense and branched large shrub. It usually reaches a height of 4 - 6 m and is approx. 4 - 5 m wide. It usually grows 15 - 20 cm per year.
