The Thunberg spiraea (Spiraea thunbergii) is a bushy, loose small shrub that produces white flowers arranged in umbels. They appear from April to May. The Thunberg spiraea also has lanceolate, light green leaves. In a sunny to semi-shady location with loose, nutrient-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 1.2 metres and grows to a width of approx. 1.2 metres.

Thunberg spiraea is a bushy and loose-growing small shrub. It usually reaches a height of 0.8 - 1.2 m and is approx. 0.8 - 1.2 m wide.

The deciduous leaves of the Thunberg spiraea are light green, lanceolate, alternate. They are about 2 - 5 cm in size. Thunberg spiraea is bright yellow to orange-red in autumn. Long lasting.

Flower

The white flowers of Thunberg spiraea appear in umbels from April to May.

Spiraea thunbergii is a shallow-rooting plant and, depending on the soil, forms finely branched roots.

Location

Preferred location in a sunny to semi-shady position.

Care
