The Japanese spiraea 'Shirobana' (Spiraea japonica) is a bushy, compact small shrub that produces light pink flowers arranged in umbels. They appear from July to August. The Japanese spiraea 'Shirobana' also has lanceolate, medium-green leaves. In a sunny to semi-shady location with well-drained, nutrient-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 1.2 metres and grows to a width of approx. 1.5 metres.

Growth

Japanese spiraea 'Shirobana' is a bushy and compact small shrub. It usually reaches a height of 0.6 - 1.2 m and is approx. 0.6 - 1.5 m wide. Slow growing. Usually grows 5 - 20 cm per year.

The deciduous leaves of the Japanese spiraea 'Shirobana' are medium green, lanceolate, alternate. They are about 3 - 5 cm in size. Japanese spiraea 'Shirobana' turns bright red in autumn.

Flower

The light pink flowers of Japanese spiraea 'Shirobana' appear in corymbs from July to August.

Spiraea japonica 'Shirobana' is a shallow-rooting plant and, depending on the soil, forms densely branched roots.
