The Coralberry (Symphoricarpos orbiculatus) is an upright, overhanging shrub with decorative, purple-red, round fruits. It produces creamy white, bell-shaped flowers arranged in spikes from June to July. The Coralberry also has egg-shaped, medium-green leaves. In a sunny to shady location, it usually reaches a height of around 2 metres and grows to around 2 metres wide. The Coralberry makes no particular demands on the soil.

Coralberry is an upright and overhanging shrub. It usually reaches a height of 1.5 - 2 m and is approx. 1.5 - 2 m wide.

The deciduous leaves of the Coralberrys are medium green, ovate and opposite. They are about 1.5 - 2.5 cm in size. Coralberry is bright copper-brown to red in autumn.

Bark

Light brown bark makes this plant an eye-catcher in any garden.

Flower

The creamy white, bell-shaped flowers of Coralberry appear in spikes from June to July.

Fruit

The purple-red, round berries of Symphoricarpos orbiculatus are particularly decorative. These appear from September.

Location

Preferred location in a sunny to shady position.

The Coralberry has good frost hardiness.
