The Kobus magnolia (Magnolia kobus) is a conical small tree with decorative, red fruits. These exude a light fragrance. It produces white, ray-shaped flowers in April. The Kobus magnolia also has egg-shaped, medium-green leaves. In a sunny to semi-shady, wind-protected location with humusy, loose, nutrient-rich, loamy soil, it usually reaches a height of around 10 metres and grows to a width of around 8 metres.

The deciduous leaves of the Kobus magnolia are medium green, ovate, alternate. They are about 10 - 18 cm tall. Kobus magnolia is bright yellow in autumn.

Flower

The white, ray-shaped flowers appear in April. They grow to around 8 - 10 cm and are slightly fragrant.

Fruit

The red fruits of Magnolia kobus are particularly decorative. These appear from August.

Magnolia kobus is a heartroot.
