The Crimson glory vine (Vitis coignetiae) is a climbing deciduous plant that produces red-brown flowers arranged in panicles. They appear from June to July. These produce black fruits. The Crimson glory vine also has heart-shaped, medium-green leaves. In a sunny to semi-shady location with well-drained, loose, nutrient-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of around 8 metres and grows to a width of around 10 metres.

Growth

Crimson glory vine is a climbing plant that can reach a height of 6 - 8 metres and a width of 3 - 10 metres. It usually grows 0.5 - 1 m per year.

The shoots of Vitis coignetiae are tomentose, copper-brown.

The deciduous leaves of Crimson glory vine are medium green, heart-shaped, alternate, lobed. They are about 20 - 30 cm tall. Crimson glory vine turns bright orange-yellow to red in autumn.

The red-brown flowers of Crimson glory vine appear in panicles from June to July.
