The Japanese spiraea 'Anthony Waterer' (Spiraea japonica) is a compact, upright, dense small shrub that produces magenta-coloured flowers arranged in umbels. They appear from July to September. The Japanese spiraea 'Anthony Waterer' also has lanceolate, light green leaves. The red shoots are also an interesting sight. In a sunny to semi-shady location with well-drained soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 80 cm and is approx. 80 cm wide.

Growth

Japanese spiraea 'Anthony Waterer' is a compact, upright and densely growing small shrub. It usually reaches a height of 60 - 80 cm and is approx. 60 - 80 cm wide. Slow-growing.

The deciduous leaves of the Japanese spiraea 'Anthony Waterer' are light green, lanceolate, alternate, double serrated. They are about 5 - 8 cm in size. Red shoots. Japanese spiraea 'Anthony Waterer' turns bright yellow in autumn.

The magenta-coloured flowers of Japanese spiraea 'Anthony Waterer' appear in umbels from July to September. These grow to about 15 - 20 cm tall.
