The Black elder 'Black Lace'(s) (Sambucus nigra) is a broad, loose, deciduous large shrub or bush with decorative, feathery, black-blue leaves. It also bears pink-coloured flowers arranged in umbrella clusters from June to July. These produce black, round fruits from September. They exude a light fragrance. In a sunny to semi-shady location with humusy, calcareous, loamy soil, it usually reaches a height of around 4 metres and grows to a width of around 3 metres.

Growth

Black elder 'Black Lace'(s) is a broad and loose-growing large shrub or bush. It usually reaches a height of 3 - 4 m and is approx. 2 - 3 m wide. It usually grows 40 - 60 cm per year.
