The False acacia (Robinia pseudoacacia) is a roundish tree with decorative, brown, pod-shaped fruits that remain on the tree for a very long time. They exude a strong fragrance. It produces white flowers arranged in clusters from the end of May to the beginning of June. The False acacia also has pinnate, dark green leaves. In a sunny location with well-drained, loose, sandy soil, it usually grows to a height of around 25 metres and is around 20 metres wide.

Leaves

The deciduous leaves of False acacia are dark green, pinnate, alternate. False acacia turns bright yellow in autumn.

Bark

Dark grey, net-like torn bark makes this plant an eye-catcher in any garden.

Flower

The white flowers of False acacia appear in clusters from the end of May to the beginning of June. They are strongly scented.

Fruit

The brown, pod-shaped fruits of Robinia pseudoacacia are particularly decorative. These appear from September. Stick for a very long time.

Root

Robinia pseudoacacia is a sinker rooter.

Preferred location in a sunny position.
