The American elder 'Aurea' (Sambucus canadensis) is an overhanging shrub with decorative, light red fruits. It produces creamy white flowers from July to August. The American elder 'Aurea' also has yellow-green leaves. In a sunny to semi-shady location, it usually reaches a height of around 3 metres and grows to around 3 metres wide. The American elder 'Aurea' makes no special demands on the soil.
