The Bridal spray (Spiraea x arguta) is a loose, overhanging shrub that produces white flowers arranged in umbels with a pleasant fragrance. They appear from April to May. The Bridal spray also has lanceolate, light green leaves. Its bark is dark brown. In a sunny location with well-drained, humus-rich, loose soil, it usually reaches a height of around 2 metres and grows to around 2 metres wide.

Growth

Bridal spray is a loose and overhanging shrub. It usually reaches a height of 1.5 - 2 m and is approx. 1.5 - 2 m wide. It usually grows 15 - 20 cm per year.

leaves

The deciduous leaves of the Bridal sprays are light green, lanceolate, alternate, serrated. They are about 2 - 4 cm in size. Bridal spray turns bright yellow in autumn.

Bark

Dark brown bark makes this plant an eye-catcher in any garden.

Flower

The white flowers of Bridal spray appear in corymbs from April to May. These are pleasantly fragrant.

Location

Preferred location in a sunny position.

The Bridal spray has good frost hardiness.

Care
