The Dwarf mountain pine 'Carsten´s Wintergold' (Pinus mugo) is a shrub that grows densely and compactly and usually reaches a height of around 3 metres and a width of around 6 metres. Its needle-shaped leaves have a medium green colour. They turn a beautiful golden yellow colour in winter. Decorative brown-yellow cones adorn Pinus mugo 'Carsten´s Wintergold' from October. This shrub tolerates frost well. It prefers a sunny to semi-shady location. The Dwarf mountain pine 'Carsten´s Wintergold' makes no special demands on the soil.

Growth

Dwarf mountain pine 'Carsten´s Wintergold' is a dense and compact growing shrub with a loose crown. It usually reaches a height of 2 - 3 m and is approx. 4 - 6 m wide. Slow growing. It usually grows 6 - 7 cm per year.

The conical, brown-yellow cones of Pinus mugo 'Carsten´s Wintergold' appear from October. The young cones have a pinkish-red colour.
