With its yellow-green leaf colouring, Prairie cord grass 'Aureomarginata' (Spartina pectinata) is a decorative design element in the garden, which also stands out with its runner-forming growth. The green panicles of flowers adorn this grass from summer onwards. It feels most at home in a sunny to semi-shady location with well-drained, nutrient-rich soil. In favourable conditions, this hardy grass reaches a height of approx. 1.2 m and grows up to 80 cm wide.
