Perovskia abrotanoides

Perovskia is an upright and loosely growing semi-shrub. It usually reaches a height of 0.5 - 1 m and is approx. 0.5 - 1 m wide.

The deciduous leaves of the Perovskias are grey-green, pinnate, hairy and opposite. They are about 3 - 6 cm in size.

The blue-violet flowers of the Perovskia appear in spikes from July to October.

Perovskia abrotanoides is a shallow-rooting plant.

Preferred location in a sunny position.

The Perovskia has good frost hardiness.

The plant has a medium water requirement.

- In spring, generous pruning can be carried out down to the woody parts.
- In harsh locations, protection from the sun is only recommended in the event of frost.
- The plant must be protected from winter moisture.
- Cut back boldly in spring so that the plant grows compactly.

Container plants can be planted all year round, except when the soil is frozen and in summer heat (over 30°C).
