With its medium green leaf colouring, Siberian melic 'Atropurpurea' (Melica altissima) is a decorative design element in the garden, which also stands out with its upright and clump-forming growth. The red-brown flower panicles adorn this grass from spring onwards. It feels most at home in a sunny to semi-shady location with dry, well-drained soil. In favourable conditions, this hardy grass reaches a height of approx. 40 cm and grows up to 30 cm wide.
