The Silky-leaved osier (Salix smithiana) is an upright garden plant that produces yellow flowers arranged in catkins with a light fragrance. They appear from March to April. The Silky-leaved osier also has lanceolate, medium green leaves. In a sunny location with well-drained, humus-rich, loose soil, it usually reaches a height of around 7 metres and grows to around 4 metres wide.

Growth

Silky-leaved osier is upright in habit. It usually grows 0.4 - 1 m per year.

The yellow flowers of Silky-leaved osier appear in catkins from March to April. These are slightly scented.
