The Apple (Malus tschonoskii) is a small ovoid tree with decorative, yellow-red fruits. It produces white flowers in May. The Apple also has egg-shaped, medium green leaves. In a semi-shady location with loamy soil, it usually grows to a height of around 12 metres and is around 6 metres wide.

Leaves

The deciduous leaves of the Apples are medium green, ovate, alternate, serrated. They are about 7 - 12 cm in size. Apple is bright orange-yellow in autumn.

The white flowers appear in May. These grow to about 3 - 4 cm in size.

Fruit

The yellow-red fruits of Malus tschonoskii are particularly decorative. These appear from September.

Root

Malus tschonoskii is a heartroot.

Preferred location in partial shade.

The Apple has good frost hardiness.
