'Dora Bielefeld' is a popular, robust cultivar of Lungwort, admired for its vibrant salmon-pink flowers and attractive foliage. It's an excellent choice for adding early spring interest to shady garden spots.

Growth

Clump-forming perennial. Grows to 20-30 cm (8-12 inches) tall and 25-30 cm (10-12 inches) wide.

Leaf

Semi-evergreen. Dark green, lance-shaped, typically with distinct white or silvery spots.

Flower

Abundant clusters of vibrant salmon-pink, funnel-shaped flowers. Blooms from March to May. Excellent early nectar source for pollinators.

Location

Prefers partial to full shade. Best in cool, sheltered spots.

Frost hardiness

Excellent (USDA Zones 3-8). Very cold-tolerant.

Soil

Needs moist, well-drained, humus-rich soil. Tolerates various types but avoids waterlogging.

Water

Medium water needs. Keep consistently moist, especially in dry spells.

Use

Ideal for woodland gardens, shady borders, groundcover, and underplanting.

Care

Low maintenance. Remove old leaves after flowering for tidiness. Divide every few years. Generally pest-resistant.

Planting time

Autumn (Sept-Nov) or early spring (March-April).
