The Apricot 'Hargrand' (Prunus armeniaca) produces yellow, medium-sized, juicy fruits. They are round and have a sweet and sour flavour. Well-drained, nutrient-rich soil and a sunny location create the ideal conditions for a high-yield harvest from July. Their light pink-coloured, pleasantly fragrant flowers are a beautiful sight. The Apricot 'Hargrand' grows upright to around 6 metres high and 8 metres wide.

Growth

Apricot 'Hargrand' is an upright growing small tree. It usually reaches a height of 4 - 6 m and is approx. 6 - 8 m wide.

Leaves

The deciduous leaves of the Apricot 'Hargrand' are medium green, ovate, serrated. They are about 5 - 10 cm in size.

Flower

Prunus armeniaca 'Hargrand' forms cup-shaped, light pink-coloured flowers from March. These exude a pleasant fragrance and grow to around 2.5 - 3 cm in size.

Fruit

Prunus armeniaca 'Hargrand' forms yellow, round fruits.

Location

Preferred location in a sunny position.

The Apricot 'Hargrand' has good frost hardiness.

Soil

Prunus armeniaca 'Hargrand' prefers nutrient-rich, sufficiently moist soil.

Water

Water regularly and allow the soil to dry out in the meantime.

Care

- Thinning pruning is recommended, in which only the shoots that are too dense are removed.
- Fruit trees planted in spring must be watered generously throughout the summer. Well-rooted plants only require additional water in extremely dry conditions.
