The Japanese rose 'Smart Roadrunner'® (Rosa) is a rich-flowering rose that plays a special role in the garden. The numerous semi-double flowers are dark pink and appear from June to September. Their intense fragrance unfolds particularly on sunny, warm days. With its dense and overhanging growth, this shrub grows up to 80 cm tall and 80 cm wide.

Growth

Japanese rose 'Smart Roadrunner'® is a dense, overhanging shrub that can reach a height of 60 - 80 cm and a width of 60 - 80 cm.

The shoots of Rosa rugosa 'Smart Roadrunner'® are spiny.

The deciduous leaves of the Japanese rose 'Smart Roadrunner'® are medium green, pinnate. They are about 8 - 15 cm in size.

Flower

The dark pink, cupped flowers are semi-double and appear from June to September. They grow to about 8 - 10 cm tall and are strongly scented.

Fruit

The fruits of Rosa rugosa 'Smart Roadrunner'® are particularly decorative. These appear from October.

Root

Rosa rugosa 'Smart Roadrunner'® is a taproot and, depending on the soil, forms spreading, branching, runner-forming roots.

Location

Preferred location in a sunny to semi-shady position.
