Rhus typhina 'Dissecta'

The shoots of Rhus typhina 'Dissecta' are tomentose, light brown in colour.

The deciduous leaves of the Stag's horn sumach 'Dissecta's are medium green, pinnate, glossy, alternate. They are about 40 - 50 cm tall. Stag's horn sumach 'Dissecta' is bright orange-yellow to red in autumn.

Dark brown bark makes this plant an eye-catcher in any garden.

The light green flowers of Stag's horn sumach 'Dissecta' appear in panicles from June to July.

The red fruits of Rhus typhina 'Dissecta' are particularly decorative. These appear from the beginning of August. Adhere for a very long time.

Rhus typhina 'Dissecta' is a shallow-rooting plant and, depending on the soil, forms runner-forming roots.

Preferred location in a sunny position.

The Stag's horn sumach 'Dissecta' has good frost hardiness.

Plant or parts of the plant are poisonous.

The plant has a medium water requirement.

- Cut and saw wounds as well as broken branches should be treated with a wound sealant as soon as possible to prevent pathogens from entering the plant.
- This plant does not tolerate heavy soil. If necessary, the soil structure can be improved when planting by working in sand and mature compost.

Container plants can be planted all year round, except when the soil is frozen and in summer heat (over 30°C).
